Augie's Striped Bass and Round Valley Photos
Augie's striped bass, lake trout, musky, brown trout and salmon photos!

Here's Augie holding a nice Navesink River bass taken this fall. I've never met Augie, we've had quite a bit of correspondence since I first started hounding him with questions about Round Valley...he's the webmaster and newsletter editor for the Round Valley Trout Association. He knows his trout, he's boated 2 lakers over 20#'s up there that I know of, that's pretty impressive! Anyway, we've been trying to hook up for a trip into the suds for a while now, sooner or later, we'll manage it...until then, keep up the good work Augie, and nice fish!

Lake Trout - Round Valley - 21 pounds

Lake Trout
Lower left, another huge NJ laker for Augie and below here is a moose of a brown trout no doubt trolled up in RV as well. You can't see it in this smaller version of the photo, but the tape reads 28"!! Look at the belly on that thing! Man, that's why I keep fishing RV when the bass are taking their winter siesta! Nice fish Augie, all of them!

Muskie - French River Muskellunge

Boy, look like Augie's been busy in the sweetwater! :) Top left is a 21# lake trout that he trolled up in Round Valley Resevoir. Looks like some kinda record to me!
Immediatly above is a nice French River muskie. I've fished the French River a few times myself, it's a great place in Ontario, Canada. I usually fish it for walleyes personally, at Crane's Lochaven Lodge at Commanda Island. One trip up there, in the middle of the night, I stuck a 21# muskie on my 5ft trout rod...it ate a tiny minnow on 4# Trilene XT line, no leader. It was a miracle the fish didn't clip the line like a spider web, but it landed, weighed, photo'd and released...it was amazing. By the looks of it, Augie's here is around the same wieght! They are ferocious, a freind and I watched one swallow a busy muskrat that was swimming back and forth across a small but deep creek...talk about surface action!
Above to the left, Augie's 1999 king salmon, a best..another fish I've yet to fish for but would like to.

Brown Trout - Round Valley - 28 inches
