Eelman's (Bill Nolan) Striped Bass Surf Fishing Pictures

Bill Nolan's 48 pound striped bass Bill Nolan, a.k.a., eelman, seen here holding the guest of honor, a 48 pound striper Bill took on Cape Cod in 96...yes, on a live eel. Beautiful fish, you might hear about one that size coming from the entire state of NJ from the beaches...none on some years...oh, to be a little closer to the Cape! Nice fish Bill, good to have you back on StripersOnline as well...I'm looking forward to butting heads with you again as this winter closes it's icy grip on all our favorite fishing holes! I bet you got some more pictures somewhere......

Dorie's Cove, Block Island

Here's Bill in action, fishing Dorie's Cove on Block Island. Ah, Block Island, another one of "those" places I've yet to set foot on...maybe next year!

Bill Nolan's 52 pound striper Again, Bill with his personal best, a 52 pound unicorn that fell for, you guessed it, a live eel! This one came on a long walk on RI, bet there were some sore shoulders after humping this one back to the car! I understand Bills been a long time and a lot of eels to get this girl, and he had to carry her a long way back to the car, but all the pains and sleepless nights were no doubt easier to bear once that needle on the scale cleared that 50 pound mark!A great fish indeed...if those damn fish could just lay off the eels, maybe some would actually make it this far south, but as long as they're eating eels, they just aren't safe up that way! Somehow, we gotta get the word out to those fish to not eat eels...they'll thank us when they get down here! Way to go Bill..er, Eelman!

Now where's my fifty!?!?? :)

Narragansett striped bass

Above is Bill again, this time with but a teen sized bass from Narragansett, but guess what this one was taken on? Look in the corner of it's mouth...yup, another live eel fish...see what I mean? We gotta spread the word, the fish must learn that eels are BAD! It's the only way we'll ever get a shot this far south, all them eel slingers up north, we gotta convince the fish that eels just aren't good to eat...we need a plan! :)

Baby Nolan I think Bill's taken some of the comments about his mug pretty serious! :) He sent me this picture, his best catch yet, just to assure us that while he's a little scary, he's capable of a beautiful little girl like this...she's adorable! Bill also makes it clear that she got all her looks from her mother...like we didn't already figure that one out! ::)) Only kidding Bill, looks aren't important, it's the guest of honor that makes the picture!
