Default Paints, thinners etc. $$

What is with the prices on this stuff....$7.95 for a qt. of mineral spirits, same price for denatured alcohol was afraid to look at spar varnish! Plus Createx is up to $4.95 a bottle, forget that! Bought the Michael's brand craft paint @ .39 on sale and it's working out well. Thank god for the 50% off coupon I used for the Etex.

I keep seeing this over and over... It's not cheap, but it's not going to break the bank either. As long as you enjoy it, it's actually pretty economical making your own plugs assuming your making more than just a few. At least in my opinion.

Heck, I've invested $500 in tools/supplies. Figure $20 a plug if I bought them, I figure I pay $4 a plug that's $16 I'm saving. 30 or so plugs and I figure I'm close to even.

Plus it keeps me sane in the winter.

There's not too many hobies that can occupy your time like plugbuilding...not for the money.

Joe
