Despite almost universal consensus that this is a very bad idea, you seem to have made up your mind before ever asking the question.. so why bother even posting it.. I agree with others though.. not fair to whomever will need to risk THEIR lives to rescue you. You remind me of a guy I sold a kayak to many years ago..He too had all the answers.. poo-pooed all our advise concerning safety.. "I'm a great swimmer" , "oh the rivers not running so high" " I don't need an expensive life jacket ($20) you're just trying to pad the bill! ..., just give me a cushion" ..Well.. at least we tried.. I felt bad anyway when they dragged his corpse out...

What some are referring to is called Initial and Secondary stability. A kayak with a rounded bottom will have little initial stability. Meaning it feels squirly just sitting in it on flat water, but very good secondary. Meaning when the waves start kicking up the stability will be very good. The boat in question will have NO secondary stability. One decent wave could flip it like a top.

I will simple say that if you take that out in the eastern sound you have a bigger set than I do!

I've seen guys in 10' duck boats fishing a popular power plant outflow in Eastern CT. Doesn't look like much fun to me. Maybe in small inlets and rivers.
