So when Ben came to pickup the wood for his work bench top, I held on to a couple of piece's to make a table. The GF wanted a Tuscany looking table that was large, and had no legs that got in the way
,so here's what I came up with.I took the old pilasters (2) and cut the returns off of it. I cut them to 20"x 90" and ran them thru the jointer. Then I used biscuits and Gorilla glue and clamped them together and them sanded them down for stain. For the base I found a really heavy metal glass top table base, I sprayed it in an antique brown and then rag wiped it with some black to give it an aged look. Heres some pic's. The first one I stole from Ben ![]() The second shows the application of the Pre-Stain and some random photos of the base and top. I had my camera on the wrong settings so the colors didn't come out great, but I think you can get the idea. The chairs are covered in a Sage color. It was a nice break from a long week ![]()

Thanks guy's.
Ben said his bench cupped on him alittle so I might have to add some kind of backbone to it .

Two coats of Minwax poly-satin. Both applied with a rag and I scuffed it with 220 between coats. The pic's are before the poly
