As for value not sure , but a guess who be less then 20.00
Also , not to bust stones but I don't think you can get a value on this page and then flip it on the BST page

Why couldn't he get a value of it if he has it sitting around and wants to get rid of it for a fair price?

20 bucks is about right, only thing is reel is a trolling reel not a fly reel. Doesn't matter if he tries to flip it on the BST, nobody buys those reels anyway, just not collectible

this reel was used for trolling wire line or lead core. - not a fly reel. Value is about right.

I have a similar reel, acquired at a garage sale on Cape Cod, of all places, many years ago. I actually used it a couple of times with lead core for lakers in Round Valley, NJ. Talk about a knuckle duster!!

I guess they were the progenitors of modern lead core trolling reels, now with drags, that are used in Alaska and the Far West for salmon.

For what it's worth, if you want to retain any of its value, don't clean or polish the finish. Any interested collector would shy away at a brightly-polished reel.

Best regards,
Irv
