Default river walleye

any tips for targetting walleye in a river this time of year and into the winter? slow moving river some deep holes, heavily fished. i would rather avoid bait and night fishing is almost impossible.
i am guessing jigs swept into deep holes and crank/stick baits dawn/dusk?
thanks

In my rivers the walleyes are eating shad. They're pukin' them up by the basket full. I'm throwing 3" Bass assassin's, sassy shads, and Zoom flukes. 1/4 oz. jig heads w/light wire 2/0 hook and a worm sinker pegged above. Maybe a plain hook with the rubber and sinker left to slide. Cast up, Drift down, Bounce bottom, Repeat.

I see a fella throwing something that looks like a rapala minnow with a three way and weight. I've seen him catch, but I don't have the confidence in that set up in the water I fish.

Minnow baits 9pm - Midnight, or predawn. Wear your union suit.

In the Susquehanna between the dam and boat ramp at Lapidum. Probably a three/four mile stretch. Also doing some jigging in the much deeper water at the mouth. Walleye and Yellow Neds. Much depends on the flow. When the river is running too hard I'm looking for the schoolie rock herded up on the flats.

Too many fish, not enough time.

Default Tuesday

Crappy cell phone picture. Slow fishing here lately. I know it will pick up as the water gets colder. I've just got too many irons in the fire.
