BM question

Is there a difference in weight between the gibbs style and wadd style needle? thanks

I believe both are 3 oz....but BM does make a 2oz needle as well....

I have 1 of ea in my bag right now. The Gibbs style feels a bit heavier, at least to me. Gibbs style is more loaded in one end and seem to stay on the bottom more than the Wadd.

I think the Gibbs style is closer to 3.5oz and the Wadds are 3oz.

Funny you should ask. I have an older style BM Gibbs that is 2oz. I recently bought a new one and was expecting it to be the same size except it came in and was a lot bigger. 3.5oz feels about right to me. Apparently BM makes at least 2 sizes of the Gibbs needle and the bigger Gibbs feels a bit heavier than the Wadd.

The newer Wadds with the thinner nose are just a hair under 3oz. The older Wadds are 3oz.
