Congrats on a dandy of a deer. I've been out quite a bit but have only seen small does thus far. Waiting for your deer's cousin to come by my stand!

Just got back in from a scouting mission - found my first shed ever -- 1/2 of an 8 pointer -- Did see 1 deer and lots and lots of acorns holy never seen so many -- deer starts next weekend -- just sited the bow - here we go.

Looks like I have some catching up to do

That is a dandy ---

Congrats on your deer. Been out twice in Ct with my xbow. Saw small buck, cupla doe, nothing worth losing an arrow over. My younger son's got 2 eight points so far. Neither cracked 120 but still decent. My other son got 2 doe on a crop damage permit. The land is owned by a nursery and they perfer their guests to kill some doe. Acorns EVERYWHERE. Forget about hunting food sources around here, got to follow the water.

acorns acorns acorns... never seen so many.. will be interesting to see how this influences deer behavior and hunter kill. At the very least it's a good break for deer that had a very difficult winter last year, especially in icestorm influenced areas. right on the verge of full rut over the next week-10 days or so, some big boys should be falling soon!

ps, not a bowhunter (yet) so I have to wait another month , but that's a subject for another thread.. still nice to see everyone puttin some nice animals in the freezer!

Way to go CcCstriper 89. Congrats.

Not from Hyde Park, must be thinking of someone else. Grew up out in the sticks and am still here!
